The extensive electrical work carried out at the 349,740 square foot Amazon Distribution Facility in Taunton, MA, was a multi-faceted project that encompassed a wide range of critical components.
The project began with the make-safe and disconnect process, ensuring the safety of personnel during the installation. Temporary power and lighting were established to facilitate ongoing construction activities, ensuring that the project proceeded smoothly and efficiently. Electrical distribution panels were installed to efficiently manage and distribute power throughout the facility.
Docking stations and Motorized Transfer Switches (MTS) were incorporated to facilitate the loading and unloading of goods, enhancing the facility's logistical capabilities. Interior lighting and lighting controls were meticulously designed and installed, optimizing visibility and energy efficiency within the facility. A comprehensive design-build fire alarm system was implemented, complete with wiring, ensuring the safety of occupants and assets.
Furthermore, a sophisticated Stow-By-Light (SBL) system was integrated to enhance storage and retrieval processes. Power wiring was extended to HVAC equipment, providing climate control essential for maintaining product quality. The electrical work completed at Temescal Wellness, a marijuana cultivation facility within a 67,000 sq ft. warehouse and a 1,600 sq ft two-story office space involved comprehensive installations and systems.
This included the setup of temporary lighting for construction, the installation of a new 480/477V 3000 Amp electrical service to power the facility, a fire alarm system for safety, lighting controls and devices to manage illumination, HVAC wiring for climate control, an 800KW generator for backup power, a 1200 Amp transfer switch and rigging for seamless power transition, fire pump wiring for emergency firefighting, a video intercom system for security, emergency and exit wiring for safety compliance, and phone and data systems to support communication needs. These electrical installations ensure the functionality, safety, and security of the marijuana cultivation facility.
The electrical work completed at 170 Central Avenue in Chelsea, Massachusetts involved comprehensive installations across three mixed-use residential buildings.
For Building A, a 6/7-story split multi-family residential building containing 215 units and amenity spaces, we handled the electrical installations for all sections: Building A1 (below the podium) and Building A2 (above the podium), ensuring reliable power distribution, lighting controls, and safety systems.
In Building B, a 6-story multi-family residential building with 115 units and amenity spaces, our work included electrical installations for both Building B1 (below the podium) and Building B2 (above the podium), providing robust electrical infrastructure.
For both Buildings A and B, we installed a BDA system to ensure reliable communication for emergency responders. Additionally, we implemented an Area of Rescue system, a tel-data system with wiring, and an intercom system to enhance safety and communication within the buildings.
